| Artist Cora-Allan |
Studio artist Cora-Allan is a young Maori/Niuean practitioner who uses her cultural heritage and interest in indigenous visual arts to develop her focus. With a strong importance placed on representation of Maori content, Cora-Allan works to create dialogue around these issues as she discovers avenues of conversation through an exploration of techniques.
Strongly influenced by her Niuean grandmothers Tivaevae background Cora-Allan has used this method frequently alongside Pyrography etching, Whakairo carving, Printmaking and Photography. Her broad range of media allows her to engage with opportunities and she is currently working on building her knowledge within collaborative projects.
With a background in photography and as a past arts educator, Cora-Allan aims to collect more knowledge during her Masters studies to collect information in which to collaborate with communities in order to foster and sustain indigenous visual arts.
