Selene Simcox

I am a highly focused and self motivated artist who has a passion for painting. I live to paint and paint to live. My current work explores the relationship between paint and vinyl and the role that performance plays in the work. I am also inspired by graffiti, abstract expressionism, gestural mark making and hybridity in post modern society.

I currently live in Auckland and are in my second year of Masters of Arts Management at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design. I am also the founder and editor of Gallery36, a pdf magazine that profiles emerging artists and photographers: www.gallery36.co.nz
