The Big Idea is a growing online community for creative practitioners, producers and organisations.
Our ‘big idea’ is to support the expansion of work and income for New Zealand's creative practitioners. To help achieve this aim, the site provides access to current work and professional development opportunities, industry news, interviews and much more – all focused on what’s happening in New Zealand’s creative sector.
The Big Idea encourages members to connect and collaborate with online forums, showcase their work and profile themselves within the site.
Members can also share sector opportunities and industry news.
The Big Idea Trust, which runs The Big Idea website, is funded through a number of activities. We provide a project-based consultancy service to other creative sector organisations including Auckland City, Arts Regional Trust and the British Council. We generate income from our website with advertising for businesses and community organisations. We also receive significant funding and other support from ASB Community Trust and The Lion Foundation. If you would like to donate or offer your support in any way, we would love to hear from you.
