CEAC Tutor Profiles

FEATURED TUTOR

SUSAN BROGAN

Susan has been involved in the glass industry for 24 years, working for both a major coloured glass supplier (as a leadlighter) and running her own studio business. She creates leadlight windows and lampshades from either her own or customers designs, restores leadlight panels and repairs china cabinet panels.
Living with her husband and four children in the house they built in Waiatarua 28 years ago, has influenced much of her work, inspiring the native bird hangings Susan provided for Tiritiri Matangi.
Since winning a local Woman In Business Award and featuring in “The Invisible Entrepreneurs” documentary back in 1995, and with the family now all adults, Susan has had time to step into the world of glass fusing and has bought her own kiln, to produce glass jewellery and platters.
Susan is experienced in tutoring in “all things glass” to both adults and intermediate children and looks forward to the weekend workshop on the 20th and 21st August.
