Tracey has been a teacher for 13 years in Auckland and the UK. Since childhood, she has had a love of design and making art. She studied photography and painting while training as a teacher which inspired her to further pursue art, both in the classroom and personally. Living in Waitakere City, she has been inspired to paint nature and landscapes, mostly using acrylics.
Tracey is a new tutor to CEAC. She taught a very popular Fancy Fairies course in the 2007 June school holidays and has another two courses planned for the 2007 September school holidays. In the fourth term she will start a Saturday morning children’s painting class focusing on a Pacifica theme.
Tracey has a wonderful ability to bring out the best in children. They feel what it is like to be a real artist, using a canvas and easel. She helps the children follow a process which teaches them art skills yet allows the freedom to make their own decisions. The children learn a range of techniques including drawing, collage and painting with acrylics. Tracey enjoys seeing the children gain confidence in their artistic ability and then take home a quality finished artwork.
