Writing Theatre is a year-long programme with NZ playwright and teacher Gary Henderson, beginning at an introductory level.
You will learn and practise the art and craft of writing for live performance. Using the spoken word, action, light, sound, and design, you’ll be able to create stories that will engage and move an audience.
During the year you’ll write three scripts of increasing length and complexity, and work on them with professional directors and actors. In addition you’ll have a two-hour class each week and an online component where you can interact with your colleagues and tutor between classes.
Participants who complete the programme will be invited to join the ‘Graduate Studio’ - a monthly meeting of experienced writers, where you will have the opportunity to realise your own work on stage.
