Having completed a Masters Degree in English and Art History at Auckland University, Ingrid gained a Post Graduate Degree in Textile Design from the Central School of Art in London.
On returning to New Zealand she established a studio as Ingrid Dubbelt Textiles, designing and printing fabric for interiors; bedspreads, curtaining and upholstery. Now based at CEAC Ingrid continues to draw inspiration from a wide variety of sources - abstract form in modernist art and design, ancient cultures and the natural world. She is interested in the textile designs of a number of artists and architects, including Sonia Delaunay, Henry Moore and Ray Eames. Ingrid’s designs spring directly from the process of printing onto cloth collaging shape and colour as she works.
Ingrid is offering a Fabric Printing workshop (over 2 Saturday’s) on the 29th August & 5th September – see page 13 for more information.
The Gallery Shop currently stocks a selection of Ingrid’s original screen-printed tablecloths.
