CHAN ANDREASSEND MEDIUM: CERAMICS & RESIN BASED: PONSONBY, AUCKLAND
Chan Andreassend is a Design studio set up by its founders - Karen Chan and Ronald Andreassend after they graduated from Design School in Auckland in 1981.
They design a wide range of functional and decorative objects using both ceramics and resin. Chan Andreassend’s approach to design is to create objects that will not only be treasured, but will also intrigue and share the passion and creative energy of the work.
Inspiration is drawn from their Chinese and European origins whilst incorporating elements of Pacific culture and the New Zealand landscape.
Their work focuses on new forms in resin and ceramics; and ranges from home ware to accessories, lighting, textiles and jewellery. Their designs reveal a diversity of inspiration from classical elements and traditional motifs to architectural and organic themes.
Each piece is individually hand-crafted incorporating ornamental details, texture and hand-drawn patterns which add to its uniqueness and delicate finish. |
