Cats, Dogs and Madonna explores Mangere-based artist Aasha-Samara Nimo’s experience of living with her grandmother, ‘Nannan’, enabling an intimate observation into Nannan’s post- war, silent generation-isms. Through an innovative installation of treasured objects and film photography, the exhibition peers into the surprising and tender discovery of several unconventional similarities between the artist and Nannan that have survived their four generational gap.

Kites that fly our words high up in the sky. This workshop takes cues from the rich history of Protest art in Aotearoa, and asks young people what they would want to say and then gives them the tools to fly their words high for everyone to see.
