Workshop
This workshop takes a close look at textile design discovering how complex and interesting designs can be achieved from a simple shape through pattern repeat.
We will draw inspiration from local textile designers, particularly local artist Katie Smith from Smitten Design, while also looking at patterns and textiles from around the world.
Students will each create a printing stamp which will then be used to build up a more complicated pattern and stamped onto a tote bag with textile inks.

Class length: 3 hours (including 20 minute break).
Group size: Up to 60
We cater to any class size, however groups of less than 35 students do incur a minimum fee based on materials and educators' time.
These classes are held at Corban Estate Arts Centre.

Kites that fly our words high up in the sky. This workshop takes cues from the rich history of Protest art in Aotearoa, and asks young people what they would want to say and then gives them the tools to fly their words high for everyone to see.
