 Say It Sky High

Kites that fly our words high up in the sky. This workshop takes cues from the rich history of Protest art in Aotearoa, and asks young people what they would want to say and then gives them the tools to fly their words high for everyone to see.

Covering a very broad array of learning, couched in NZ’s history it teaches poetry and the art of words, graphic techniques, composition, stamp making and printing and the use of watercolour inks. The second half teaches the science of kite making and flying.

A fun sustainable workshop that combines traditional making techniques with giving kids a platform for expression.
